Hello! My name is Carrie, and I'm a writer and educator who is currently based in Georgia, and I'm on a mission to make stories better.

I believe stories are responsible for shaping not only how we understand the world around us but also how we see ourselves in it, so I want storytellers to be responsible too. I think we can use this power to tell stories that inspire, inform, and improve people’s lives. And I think we can still have a lot of fun while doing it.

These interests led me to get my BFA in Creative Writing, and I wrote my Master’s thesis analyzing the influence stories have on shaping women’s – especially young women’s – understanding of and expectations in sexual and romantic relationships.

As an educator, I first worked in Spain and taught English in Seville (you may know this as Dorne if you watched Game of Thrones), and I now work in higher education helping students become better writers, more capable storytellers, and pursue creative careers.
Outside of writing, I’m a dedicated dog mom who spends as much time with my rescue pup Rudy as possible. He's my baby, my best friend, and quite possibly the love of my life. His interests include chasing sticks, eating cheese, and being a very good boy.
If you'd like to know more about me, please check out my blog, my writing samples, or my social media links below. You can also reach out if you have any questions, and you're welcome to follow Rudy on Instagram at #rudytherudabaga where you'll see him living his very best life.
